From Tchockwe origins, this sculpture represents the figure of an old man who can be a woman or a man. Conceived symmetrically, the face slightly inclined downward, it expresses an intentional subjectivism because, in Angola, the elderly occupy a privileged status representing the wisdom, the experience of long years and the knowledge of the secrets of life.

Como se identificava a mulher Nganguele antigamente:
1. Traje de pele Tchipa
2. Tranças que se chamam “Condali”(puchinho)
3. Dentes cortados em cima e em baixo formando uma spécie de v que se diz em Nganguela “Kupena”
4. Pulseiras Vionga, nos braços como nos pés, fitas de marfim ou borrachas
As Mulheres Nganguela normalmente são encontradas na província do Kuando Kubango.

This profession in Angola is called “Engraxadores de sapatos” or just “engraxadores “, which in english translates to shoes cleaners, they can be found all around the country and especially in urban areas with a lot of business offices, because thats where their market is. Normally they are happy people very interactive and funny, they can always lift one’s spirit with their energy.
