“There is something about the location of Petit Paradis that makes it feel remote in the best way, and yet Robertson (the nearest town) is only a short drive away and boasts some amazing restaurants and excellent supermarkets. This really adds to the stay and makes you feel as though you are truly living in nature and very far from normal life in the best way.

As well as the magnificent stay, Val organised experiences for us during the stay, including lunch at a local winery and a bee keeping experience that we will treasure forever. These are local experiences you’d never find unless you know the area like Val does and were a huge part of the stay being as magical as described.

We did not want to leave by the time we were due to check out. Le Petit Paradis felt like a home you didn’t even know until you stayed there. We will be back at the first chance we get.” - Julia and Adam

Planning a birthday weekend? A celebration escape? A little treat for someone you love?
, Cape Classique Saturday deserves a spot on your list. 🫧
Fresh sushi made on-site, exceptional bubbles, slushies for little ones. Soft music, beautiful setting, no booking needed. You just show up and enjoy.
I suggested it myself, for myself 😄 it was my delayed birthday and my family loves sushi, so it felt like the perfect excuse. A good occasion to finally experience it firsthand and share it with you all now.

And if you want me to curate something special for your own celebration, please shout. That's exactly what I'm here for.

💙 À notre communauté. To our community.
Yesterday morning, driving along the R317 as the sun was rising again, the silence was heavy. The kind of silence that comes after chaos. Still. Sober. And my heart just... ached.
For every person in our valley and across the Western Cape who has been affected, closely or not. For what it takes to stand back up again. For homes shaken, lives disrupted, and for Nature herself ; the rivers, the trees, the fish, all the beings who have no voice in this.

Vulnerability, fear, chaos. We have all felt some version of it these past days.
And yet here comes the sun again.

Nature is the Mother. She humbles us. She reminds us that we are small, and that we are connected to the land, to each other, to something much larger than ourselves.

Let’s be gentle with one another right now. Check on your neighbours. Give what you can. Our area needs support, and it needs love.

And in the midst of it all GRATITUDE. For what we have. For dry floors and warm beds and the people beside us. 🙏
If you know of local ways to help, please share below. We are stronger together. 💛🌿

Have you ever cooked curry in a mountain kitchen with a view most people don’t even know exists? 🍛🌿

Meet Adielah.

She grew up in Cape Town carrying the flavours and traditions of Cape Malay culture in her hands. Settled in Robertson for a while with her husband, together they run one of the town’s most beloved restaurants . And on some Saturdays, she opens her home high up in the mountains and welcomes you into her home.
The views alone are worth the drive up.

But here’s what makes this different from every other cooking class you’ve ever done and forgotten. ☺️

Adielah teaches you the way her family taught her. Simple. Real. The kind of recipes you go home and actually make again. Samosas you’ll fold for your friends next weekend. A curry that becomes your Sunday staple. Spices that suddenly make sense. No fancy techniques. No chef ego. Just good food, good people, and a kitchen full of laughter.

Vegetarian, meat, vegan. Food for everyone, rooted in real heritage and Cape Malay tradition.

You will leave with full hands, a full stomach, and recipes you’ll use for the rest of your life. 🌶️

Adielah is one of the two remarkable women at the heart of the Breede & Breathe weekend and her Saturday afternoon in the mountains is something you will talk about for years.

📅 Saturday experiences available:
11 July · 8 August · 12 September

Full weekend package from R2,500pp: olive estate, Cape Malay cooking, farm stay along the Breede River, fully curated.

Book before 30 May to secure your July date 🌿

Leaving Paris today. So grateful for the time I had in my native country (French flag). With family, with friends. Remembering. Sharing. Pausing. Laughing. Crying. Eating. Being.

Coming back to France always moves me. It confirms how far I am. The choice I made. It forces a kind of introspection you can’t avoid. It fills me with gratitude for the people here, and for the life I have chosen there.

A little sad to leave the ones I love. And genuinely happy to go back to what I proudly also call home. South Africa. and Robertson for now.

I won’t pretend Robertson has the food of France ( food is our culture, our religion, and that’s just the truth:) hahah . But the slowness? The seasons? The farmers and their pride? The beautiful Nature? The authenticity? The realness? That what Robertson also has. Deeply.

I come back with 1 hidden cheese only, nougat and saucissons in my suitcase and a heart full of ideas.

Voilà: I am French. I chose Robertson. Not by accident. By conviction. By everything I grew up believing about what makes a place worth slowing down for. The land. The people. The table. The culture. The seasons.

That’s why I started Le Petit Paradis Experiences. To share what I see. With people who are ready to look as if there is beauty everywhere!

Come and discover our paradise!
