Here’s a little story, full of magic ✨

For the last three months I have been looking for a rescue dog. To me, having a dog is like having my right arm, without one, I’m useless.

Until this point I’ve applied for nearly 30 shelter dogs with zero luck. Even having physically visited shelters, met the dogs and made an application on the spot, I’ve heard nothing. After each setback, my heart would break a little more.

It’s been in the last fortnight I’ve been having premonitions about a Red Heeler arriving to my door and when that happens, that’s when I’ll find ‘my dog’. Even through I wasn’t specifically looking for a Red Heeler nor have ever owned one, the feeling was strong.

Last Thursday, we had a big storm. Thunder, lightening, heavy rain. For some unknown reason I had an urge to go outside in it. At the door was a Red Heeler. I couldn’t believe it!

I bought her inside, dried her off and went searching for her owner. Even though I knew she’d run away in the storm so she couldn’t be mine, the fact that my premonition was so exact and came true (she was even called Red) made me wonder what it meant. Later that day I posted a story about my yearning for a dog and my premonition…

In response to my story, someone I vaguely know shared that there was a Border Collie in her area looking to be re-homed. Her name was Rose.

Yesterday, I met Rose and I instantly knew she was for me. Rose was bred for cattle work but her instincts failed her. Although she was loved, this quirky little pup didn’t really fit into her farm surroundings.

Had the Red Heeler not showed up to my door, had I not posted about it and my sadness in having no luck securing a dog, Rosie never would have come into my orbit.

In another serendipitous story, my favourite person in the whole would who passed a few years ago was my Grandmother and guess what… her name was Rosie.

Yesterday was the best and happiest day I’ve had in almost a year.

Here’s the first 24 hours Rosie and I have spent together. Although Rosie isn’t down with selfies yet and spends most of her time chilling out on her back, we really are two peas in a pod.

The universe works in both mysterious and beautiful ways ❤️

Welcome to my gardening channel. I don’t know how we got here but hey, let’s role with it 😂

I’ve been getting a lot of questions about what I’m doing in my stories so figured it would be beneficial to share along the way!

Growing your own produce can be as cheap or as expensive as you want it to be.

As much as I love a wooden raised garden bed, for around $370 for the materials at the moment- there are certainly cheaper ways to create space for your veggies.

Today I created this 10m x 1m in ground bed for less than $10.

Cardboard- free
Soil- free
A handful of Sulfur and Worm castings- less than $2
Half a packet of organic sugar cane mulch- $8
Time (mostly taken up by learning how to use the loader) approximately 3.5 hours.

I’m still deciding what will grow in this bed but it will either be some sweet potatoes or broccoli with a few onions.

Have any questions? Drop them below.

And it’ll be called the Radish Revolution… 🤪

Unless you live in a studio apartment with no windows, everyone has the ability to grow something. In pots, in small used food containers, in fabric grow bags. Create an apartment level co-op where everyone grows one thing.

There is a whole internet of advice to teach you how to grow anything either in a small space and/or with very little funds.

It doesn’t need to be an expensive exercise and with a little “outside the box” thinking and swapping doom scrolling for learning, anyone can do it.

I’m not a gardener by any means but I am a girl on a mission to control what I can and teach others how to do the same in these very uncertain times.

If that’s your vibe, follow along. 🫜🧅🥕

PS. Sorry for the swearing, replacing it with ‘incompetent’ just didn’t sound as good!

In tough times, when it comes to preparedness, ‘if you’re not looking at it, you’ll be looking for it’.

Are we in for the long haul? What’s your thoughts?

I heard someone say on the weekend, ‘when times are tough and when it comes to preparedness for those time, you’ll either be looking at it or looking for it’.

I sincerely hope I’m way off the mark here and come out of this with an abundance of fresh food that I never really needed.

Would love to hear from Farmers on the ground, what’s your thoughts?

Where are you going to put your Tiny Home? 95% of the questions I’m asked about this journey includes this one.

Needing to own land for a Tiny Home is a huge fallacy. When you start to research and look into alternative options for land, you realise how easy it actually can be.

Renting land for a Tiny Home can be hugely beneficial for both the land owner and the Tiny Home owner. It truly can be a win-win for both parties.

I receive messages every day saying that living in a Tiny Home, off grid, is the dream. But it is actually far more achievable than traditional home ownership.

Has this changed your mind on potential Tiny Home living?

As I’ve aged, I’ve definitely become more crunchy (health conscious for those wondering). It’s a side of me you probably haven’t seen much of on here but it’s something that I am increasingly more interested in.

And no I’m not a medical practitioner or a scientist, but just like you, I have a device in my hand that can give me answers if I use the brain in my head to research past surface level information, to what is and is not so good for us and our health.

I made the decision early on that if I’m building a home, I want it to be a place where I can not only relax in, but I know it’s equally a healthy environment that I’m living in, even if it means a bit more effort and a bit more of an investment.

Due to the tiny footprint of my home, making all these options aren’t much more expensive and most of these items have a long life span so won’t need to be replaced often.

I’m also in a fortunate position that since returning from Africa and restarting my life, I can buy once and buy well.

For all the other crunchy people out there, is there anything else you can add to my list?

Like ply is cute and all, but show me a mid century modern tiny home that I can absolutely froth over.

When I started the design journey for my tiny home, I saw a lot of the same. Tonnes of “cabin” inspired homes, decked out with birch ply, matt black tap wear and wooden bench tops. They all started to look very similar and none felt like a permanent home. Where was the individuality? Where was the soul?

After my initial meeting with my tiny home builder , I started pinning interiors that I liked. It became apparent really quickly that MCM was the style I loved, I am just now working with a much smaller version of it.

This week I meet with Cody (the designer) at Konpak to receive my first renders. I. AM. SO. EXCITED.

Who else loves a bit of MCM? 💕

Every day I have people and companies reaching out for paid collaborations. And truth be known it’s very rare that I ever accept these offers. It feels inauthentic to promote something that I don’t love or wouldn’t use myself. If you’ve been following for a while, you already realise that.

The only time I recommend a product or service, is if I have tried it for myself and personally love it and want to share that love with others. Those recommendations are always unpaid.

I feel the exact same about . After hours of initial research and being only at the beginning of my build, I absolutely feel like I’m really working with the best in the tiny house business.

We’ve spent hours in discussion and the renders haven’t even started. That’s the kind of people Cody (Designer) and Dan (Builder) are.

I’m yet to see anything similar in Australia to what I’m building within the tiny home industry (even the cladding colour is vastly different) and it’s not only a super fun creative project to share with you but may open your eyes to what’s possible in a small footprint.

Want to earn the easiest $350USD of your life? Take a read below👇🏻

Professional Photographers. We invest in one for our wedding day and many will hire one for large life celebrations and parties. But why is it not standard to engage one for one of the most special and memorable life experiences one will ever encounter; partaking in a Safari?

By witnessing our experiences through a camera or phone we are in fact, missing out on the full experience in which lies in front of us, therefore, the experience is never truly entirely felt, seen or had.

Safaris for many, are a once in a lifetime opportunity. A chance to celebrate. An opportunity to experience something so profound, the adventure stays with one, forever. And now you can completely immerse yourself whilst having every sighting and moment, expertly captured for and of you.

Know anyone going on a Safari soon? Any referred and locked in bookings throughout the months of October and November 2024 will receive a $350 USD *referrers fee.

Tag a friend who's planned or planning a trip to Africa soon!

*T&Cs do apply. Please be in contact for a full list of these.
