There's something incredibly freeing about traveling deep into the wild - where the roads fade, the signal disappears, and you're surrounded by nothing but the sound of wind and open space.
Remote travel isn't about escaping responsibility - it's about embracing it. As part of our kits, we carry a Garmin InReach to stay connected, even when there's no cell signal for hundreds of kilometres. It gives us the ability to check in with family, share our location, or if the situation ever calls for it- press the SOS button for emergency assistance.

Overlanding through Zimbabwe takes you to places where nature still sets the rhythm of life. Mandavu Dam is one of the most memorable stops. The sky painted in deep oranges and purples, and the water reflecting every shade. Around us, the bush comes alive with change - the hippos surface with their low grunts, elephants make their way to drink and bird calls echo as day gives way to night. Sitting there, watching it all unfold, we are reminded why we choose to overland. It's not just about the places we reach, but about being present in these rare, wild moments, where time slows down, and Africa reveals her magic.
