Like most people on the Cape Flats, Aunty Nita loves sharing the stunning city of Cape Town and the beauty of her community with travellers, who will have become friends by time the tour ends. Sharing Cape Town and more specifically, life on the Cape Flats, with anyone who will visit, is therefore a way for me to merge my love of the city, and my desire to showcase it.”

urs is my open invitation to anyone wanting to experience the road less travelled – to not only see the Cape Flats from Table Mountain, or to whizz past on the highway, but to be immersed into it; to be a part of the sights, sounds and experiences of the Flats from the perspective of someone who has grown up there. Through Aunty Nita’s I aim to tastefully and respectfully share the diversity which makes the Cape Flats such a colourful place to visit.

Wow, what a morning...
Started with coffee and a briefing in their offices
A walk down to the dock
Followed by boarding the quaintest boat before heading out into the calm waters of False Bay.
Visited by a Skua all the way from the Southern Ocean, 100's of seals on an island, including one breakfasting on an octopus, a mysterious whale sighting and then at least 20 bronze-whalers.

Then enjoying a chat with a marine biologist on the way back to the harbour. You can't ask for a better way to spend a cool winters morning...

And no!!! I was not shark-bait. There is no way I'll be doing that....ever!!!! But the experience was phenomenal and those who actually did the dive, thoroughly enjoyed it, with some great shots and close-ups.

Absolutely beautiful experience!! Thank you False Bay Shark Explorers!!
