VAL THORENS: EXPERIENCED FIRSTHAND ❄️⛷️
Janey Weyers takes us inside Europe’s highest ski resort.
There’s something very different about recommending a destination you’ve actually experienced for yourself.
Our very own Janey recently spent three unforgettable nights at Hôtel Pashmina in Val Thorens, nestled high in the breathtaking French Alps.
At 2,300 metres above sea level, Val Thorens is Europe’s highest ski resort and forms part of the incredible Three Valleys ski area. With its cosy atmosphere, direct access to the slopes and unique Igloo-Pod accommodation, Hôtel Pashmina proved to be the perfect mountain retreat.
One of Janey’s highlights was travelling to one of the mountain’s highest points. With temperatures feeling close to −25°C with the wind chill, proper ski gear was essential, but the crisp mountain air and endless snowy views made every freezing moment worthwhile.
She also tried skiing for the first time… and, in her words, spent considerably more time in the snow than on it! 😂 Plenty of falls, plenty of laughs, and all part of the adventure.
Then came the zipline ... flying high above the snow-covered landscape with incredible views across the mountains — followed by the perfect après-ski combination of glühwein, comforting food and a cosy Alpine atmosphere.
Cold. Exhilarating. Beautiful. And absolutely unforgettable. 🤍
