This week our theme is Trees and Wood. 🌳🪵 We will be learning about trees, their different parts, what they provide for us, and all the wonderful things we can make from wood.

🌳 Cool fact: Did you know that trees can communicate with each other through underground networks of fungi connected to their roots? Nature has its very own “Wood Wide Web”! 🌱

Tomorrow is the official first day of Spring, as well as the day we celebrate and honour our wonderful grandparents.

Spring has arrived, bright and new,
With flowers blooming in every hue.
And just like Spring brings joy each day,
Grandparents bring love in every way.

Good morning! ☀️ This week we are learning all about clothing and hats. 👕👗👒🧢
Here are some fun facts we can share with the children:
👕 Clothing Fun Facts
Clothes help protect our bodies from the sun, cold, wind and rain.
Cotton comes from a plant! 🌱
Wool comes from sheep. 🐑
Raincoats are made from materials that help keep water out. ☔
Shoes protect our feet and help us walk safely.
People in different countries wear different types of traditional clothing.
🎩 Hat Fun Facts
Hats can protect our heads from the hot sun. ☀️
Beanies and woollen hats help keep our heads warm in cold weather. 🧶
Some hats are worn as part of uniforms, such as police and firefighter hats.
Cowboy hats were designed to help protect cowboys from the sun and weather. 🤠
Hats come in many different shapes, sizes and colours!

🔥 Good morning, Parents! 🔥
Welcome to our short week!
Our theme for this week is FIRE , where the children will be learning about fire safety, what firefighters do, and how to stay safe around fire.
If all goes according to plan, the Fire Brigade will be visiting us on Friday! Our children always enjoy this special treat and get so excited to see the fire truck and learn from the firefighters.

Here are a few important fire safety tips you can also chat about with your little ones at home:

🔥 Never play with matches, lighters or candles.
🔥 Stop, Drop and Roll if your clothes catch fire.
🔥 Never hide during a fire — go outside and stay outside.
🔥 Stay low and crawl under smoke if there is smoke in the room.
🔥 Never touch hot stoves, heaters or other hot objects.
🔥 Teach children their home address and how to call for help in an emergency.
🔥 Most importantly, teach them to tell an adult immediately if they see fire or smoke.

Our theme for the week is Road Safety. 🚦

Here are some fun road safety facts;

Children learn best by watching adults, so always be a good role model when crossing the road.

The safest place for children under 13 years old is the back seat of the car.

Always stop, look, listen, and think before crossing the road.

Bright or reflective clothing helps drivers see pedestrians more easily, especially in poor light.

Wearing a seatbelt reduces the risk of serious injury in an accident.
