Eden Mountain Biking Tours

Eden Mountain Biking Tours http://edenmountainbiking.co.za/ Eden mountain biking tours offer tours from Cape Town in the Western Cape to the Baviaanskloof in the Eastern Cape.

Our routes include one of the worlds most spectacular drives from Cape Town around the peninsula to Cape Point, where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet. Also included are the Cape Winelands whose produce can be found in all corners of the globe, where towering mountains and spectacular natural beauty abound. Route 62 is also traversed, where more spectacular mountains await with quaint villages

and wine farms along the route, this route is also famed as the longest wine route in the world. The Little Karoo lined with mountain ranges as far as the eye can see with the mighty Swartberg Mountain range forming the northern backdrop and a proclaimed world heritage site, this region is unparalleled for its rugged beauty and endemic vegetation. The Little Karoo is also the original home of the ostrich and they still roam the plains and red hills of this region on numerous ostrich farms, the famous Cango Caves are also found here amid many wine farms and guest farms. The Garden Route is central to Eden mountain biking tours, and as the name suggests this region is a natural garden of indigenous forests, fynbos and ferns, it boasts historic passes and picturesque seaside villages with spectacular lagoons, lakes and winding rivers. The Garden Route is one of South Africas most sought after regions for tourism as a result its incomparable natural beauty. George is the largest town in the Garden Route and the only one with a domestic airport. The majority of our multi-day tours on offer are located in the Garden Route and Little Karoo, and with very good reason indeed. First and foremost is the beauty and biodiversity of the spectacular Garden Route and the incomparably stunning Little Karoo, making it an unmatched destination for mountain biking. Secondly, this is our ‘home ground’ which we know intimately from small getaway back roads to magnificent seaside routes and safe off-road trails and single tracks. We are privileged to be based ‘at the center of the mountain bike universe’!

Baviaanskloof update; The roads have been reopened for vehicular traffic with the exception that vehicle must travel in 2's as water levels are still high. The good news is that the roads seem good and not washed away. Still need to hold thumbs that there is not too much rain between now and the 18th as the saturated ground will make for flooding.......

The Baviaanskloof is still closed for traffic, however water levels are dropping and indications thus far look like the damage to roads is not too bad - keep holding thumbs ! We might get to do the original route after all....
