It's hard to show size but Chilli boy, our male Burmese Python (Python bivittatus) is close to 4 meters now. We used him a lot when smaller for talks but now on your own he's getting a bit heavy to pass around 😀.

Today is world croc day. Here we share a memory of summer days and hungry crocs. They have survived for millennia, let's help them survive the human era.

One of our Mozambique spitting cobras (Naja mossambica) checking me out whilst replacing the cleaned water bowl. They are used to our movement and very seldom spit in defence now.

Strong winds last night with the arrival of a big cold front. Luckily just leaves and twigs this time and no roofs are missing.

Today Chris Hobkirk from Lowveld venom suppliers and his assistant Rian came in to check on the s*x of our two young Alligators. Turns out that both are females.

Our new sign is up thanks to the help of Solly and Morris. It's very visible from the road so hopefully people will see we are open. For some reason there is a storey going around that we closed down after COVID.

These are 2 baby tortoises of different species found in the lowveld that have hatched at the park. Have a guess at what they are.

We do a fair number of call outs to remove snakes which aren't always there. This Snouted Cobra (Naja annulifera) was in a swimming pool with a small amount of water in the bottom and couldn't get out. An easy rescue and will be released with a Black Mamba (Dendroaspis polylepis) and Southern African Python (Python natalensis) also recently caught. A big thanks to the people for not killing them and opting for a removal.

Although being a Reptile Park we do have some other critters on display. This is our Feather Leg Baboon Tarantula from West Africa. An arboreal species and often hidden so it's nice to see it out.
