Let me share the wonder of the fungal world with you... the beauty, the mystery, and the magic.
Why Mushrooms...
More than a decade ago, my life journey introduced me to mushrooms βand no, not the magic kind β all mushrooms. I began to study mycology deeply and fell in love with their beauty, shapes, and thousands of unique colors. I was also drawn to the incredible medicinal power that so many mushrooms hold.
I started growing different species of gourmet and medicinal mushrooms, learning so much along the way. For over ten years, I spent most of my time fascinated by these fungal delights β exploring forests, finding hundreds of species, and becoming completely obsessed. At this point, Iβve gained a vast knowledge of mushrooms and a deep appreciation for their mysteries.
Now, a decade later, I find myself in one of the most beautiful places in the country: Hogsback. Here, the fungal diversity is vast and untamed. Sometimes I stumble across species Iβd only ever seen in photos before. Every time I step into a forest, the hunt begins β to find the most interesting or colorful mushroom and document it.
But Iβve taken my obsession one step further: creating mushrooms in art form. I use whatever medium I can find to shape my own fungi, focusing especially on color β the more vibrant, the better. I went the fluorescent route, which means under a black light they transform into even brighter, more breathtaking colors. Not only that, they glow... and many of them sparkle. This deep love for mushrooms guides my imagination to create one-of-a-kind pieces that enchant the senses and pull you into a spectacular world of color and beauty β no eating required.
I love creating every little mushroom, whether with leather, clay, or papier-mΓ’chΓ©. Each one is truly special and made with love.
Through my artworks, I want to share this passion and help people see just how beautiful the fungal world is β and how important it is for the survival of all life on this planet.
