Staying true to our name, Escape + Explore showed the World Press attending We Are Africa another side of Cape Town few experience. No stretch limo's or waiting choppers the team left the stadium in their running gear. The afternoon began with an urban run through the famous Green Point Park and along the Sea Point Promenade learning about the underground history and popular culture of the city.
The team then continued towards Camps Bay and tested out their Stand Up Paddling skills, fitting all 9 press members on Africa's largest SUP ably assisted by 8x SA Surf Champ Nikita with the epic back drop of the Twelve Apostles.
The day continued towards the peninsular to Tinstswalo Atlantic, which was recently devastated by the peninsula fires. Stories were exchanged between the GM Melissa du Randand and the heroic firefighter who risked his life while battling the blaze.
After witnessing a magnificent sunrise on the Summit of Table Mountain that morning with us, the team were graced with a spectacular sunset and given a sneak peak at the rebuild each wearing personalised safety helmets.
It was a pleasure to have many of the press with us from Sunrise to Sunset but the credit on the day must go to Cape Town herself what a spectacular stage she sets with her majestic mountain, crystal clear waters and crisp clear African sky.
