Garricks for days....

With Leeries here in their numbers, it's been a battle getting some good ones between the smaller ones. This one ate my bucktail on the second twitch of the first cast and then took off like a bronzie 😄 Coming in at 106cm FORK length, this is my best for the season with honourable mentions coming pretty close. Penn Regiment 9ft paired with Slammer 3500 seems to be the business for the bucktail fishing.

As always thanks for the great 📸 and yummy much needed beach coffee. Not every day you get a girl that gets up that early to go swim for a fish in the middle of winter😍.

Hows this for a first kob. 😁

High summer monster with an dark copper sheen is tell tale sighn that this fish was probably sitting in the river before he came for a mid day snack on the beach. Perhaps he is just darker, who knows🤯, these fish all have their own personalities and the fight normally makes this very clear.

outsmarted this one while I was out looking for more mullets. Nothing makes you run like a bending rod in a clients hand😅. Well done Jan on your first 100lb monster🥳. Tagged and release for the next lucky angler ofcoarse.

Every year we think of something we could be doing better, and this year we decided to share the news of our catches in a nice informative layout. So here it is -> the start of the Franna Fishing monthly newsletters. It includes some amazing photos, highlights from our month, Viv shares some fishy facts and we talk about what fish to expect next month. Unfortunately we are trying to keep it short and sweet so we couldn't fit in everything but there's plenty of newsletters to come.

What a crazy year it was, and thanks to all those clients who made the adventures that much more enjoyable. It's nice to go through the galleries and the tag sheets at the end of it all. Looking back we've had some incredible seasons. Infact, Viv sat down and did the sciencey stuff and once you've added it all up there's a lot more fishes swimming around with tags. Together we've done 624 tags, apart from the 389 that we've done for tagging projects. That's a lot of admin, a lot of catch and release and countless smiles. Viv calculated the biomass of all the tags, and it came to a whopping 31 141 Kilograms! Of which the 214 Dusky Kobs made up 2 445 Kilograms. Imagine the impact we would have had as just two people on mostly one beach had we killed all those Kobs. Thats not even considering the hundreds of years that it has taken to grow the Kobs we caught in one year. Really opens your eyes.

We look forward to finding all our fish again this year, with all our recaps looking healthy we will continue to promote good handling and care for our slimy slippery friends.

Merry Christmas 🎅 🥳

Nothing quite like getting a monster kob for Christmas 😄. This day is definitely going in the books.
Not one but two 100lb fish along with some other ones to end off a great trip. Well done guys, what a day🥳🥳.

Merry Christmas to everyone and their families. Take some time these holidays and go do something fun. Whether it's hiking, fishing or just time together on the beach, make every second count. As always thanks to my amazing other half for making 2021 the best year sofar.

Double up madness.

4 Double ups is not bad for half a day's fishing. Not often you have to keep rods out the water just to give the clients a breather. Well done guys, you did great today. Great day at the office.

DOUBLE UP!

You know they biting when you go double up with two 20 kilo fish.
The Franna Fishing team has been blessed with an amazing kob season and it seems to be going on into the holidays. With most weather and fish being about a month late to the usual annual arrival, the bigger fish tend to be hanging arround much longer than normal. Well we definitely aren't complaining about that 😄

Come join us on the beach for one of these amazing animals. Pls remember we are 100% tag and release so we can enjoy this sport for years to come.

Persistence pays off!!

Shout out to this little man, Lloyd Krige, for trying his little heart out for his dream fish. After losing a giant, he came back the next day with even more enthusiasm than before. Dont let his size fool he can fight them like a pro. Well done Lloydy, well deserved giant. Not yet a 100lbs but you have many years to crack that mark.

This year is turning out to be the best kob season I have experienced in a while. Well done to all the guys releasing the big ones, I salute you. Thanks again to my incredible better half for the 📸 and all the help on the beach.

Season of GIANTS.

I had the pleasure of spending 3 days next to water with some good friends of mine from up North. Let's just say that there was no shortage of bites😄. 23 kobs and 8 steenies is not a bad way to end a long weekend.

This 50 kg giant was the biggest for the trip but the others weren't far behind. Well done guys, this is the 3rd year in a row where you guys manage a 50kg fish 💪. Every single fish was released with a tag and a story to tell his mates.
As always I couldn't do it without my better half . We make a good team😎🎣.
