The OTM Political Party is pleased to announce that on Friday, 12 June 2026, OTM Political Party President, Victor Mokonyane, together with, chairpersons, community representatives and board members, successfully completed the shortlisting of the first 1,000 unemployed residents and people from disadvantaged families who will benefit from the Driving Licence Empowerment Programme.

This important initiative forms part of the OTM Political Party's Five-Year Driving Licence Empowerment Programme (2027–2031), aimed at creating opportunities for unemployed residents and uplifting disadvantaged families across Mogalakwena.

Over the next five years, the programme will assist thousands of residents in improving their quality of life.

The programme will:
✅ Empower disadvantaged families
✅ Assist unemployed youth and adults
✅ Improve access to employment opportunities
✅ Promote skills development and economic participation
✅ Contribute to reducing poverty and unemployment

A driver's licence is more than just a card, it is a key to employment, independence, and dignity.

DRIVING LICENCE EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMME

The OTM Political Party, is proud to launch a Five-Year Driving Licence Empowerment Programme that will run from January 2027 to December 2031, creating opportunities for unemployed individuals and disadvantaged families across Mogalakwena.

On Friday, 12 June 2026, the President of OTM Political Party, Victor Mokonyane, invited community leaders, chairpersons, community representatives, and board members to assist in the selection of the first 1,000 unemployed residents and people from disadvantaged families who will benefit from this programme.

Over the next five years, the programme will continue to assist thousands of Mogalakwena residents in obtaining learner's and driver's licences, helping them access employment opportunities and improve their quality of life.

This initiative will:
✅ Empower disadvantaged families
✅ Assist unemployed youth and adults
✅ Improve access to employment opportunities
✅ Promote skills development and economic participation

As President of the OTM Political Party and Mayoral Candidate for the Mogalakwena Local Municipality in the post-2026 Local Government Elections, I firmly believe that the only way to address interference in Mogalakwena Local Municipality is for the people of Mogalakwena to vote out the ruling party.

For too long, political interference has stood in the way of development. Mining companies such as Valterra Platinum have the potential to bring meaningful opportunities to our communities, but political agendas have often delayed or prevented projects that could create jobs, improve infrastructure, and uplift our people.

When elected Mayor of Mogalakwena in 2026, I will work with all mining companies operating in our municipality to ensure that community development projects are implemented transparently, fairly, and without interference from any political party. My vision is to build strong partnerships between the municipality, mines, and local communities so that the benefits of mining reach the people who need them most.

The people of Mogalakwena deserve a government that puts their interests first. We must create an environment where mines can invest in our communities freely and where development is driven by the needs of our people, not by political interests.

The OTM Political Party wishes to inform the community of Mogalakwena that a memorandum of demands was officially submitted to Valterra Platinum Mine, and the company has been given 7 days to respond.

The response period commences on 08 June 2026 and ends on 17 June 2026.

We expect Valterra Platinum Mine to address the concerns raised by the community within this period. Should there be no satisfactory response or action taken to resolve these matters, the community reserves the right to mobilize and return to continue its pursuit of justice and accountability.

The OTM Political Party remains committed to protecting the interests and rights of the people of Mogalakwena.
