Young people are helping shape safer and smarter township economies.
Across parts of Alexandra, Soweto and Tembisa, Youth Digital Ambassadors under the initiative are working alongside spaza shop owners to support better food safety practices through digital innovation.
From introducing digital tools to strengthening hygiene awareness and building trust within communities, these young ambassadors are gaining practical experience in communication, data, problem-solving and community engagement while contributing to township economic transformation.
At the centre of this story is youth leadership, young people stepping forward as drivers of innovation, digital inclusion and safer community businesses.
