A UNESCO World Heritage site, is the heart of the 'trulli' district in the 'Valle d'Itria' in . It is enchanting! I LOVE trulli, the historical round, stone-packed, conical roofed dwellings that one sees throughout this area, but nowhere else are they concentrated as they are here.

My heart is always here!
Chiesa Santa Maria di Assunta, just a little further below and you're on Spiaggia Grande, the main beach.

But did you know that below this beautiful church lie the ruins of an ancient Roman villa, destroyed ultimately by the Vesuvian eruption of 79 A.D. It is a work in progress to excavate it, but there is, fairly recently opened, a museum onsite that you can visit and take a glimpse into the colourful Ancient Roman times, right here in Positano!
