Wow what an amazing day out in wet and wild Cape Town.

We got to have an awesome one on one tour of Jetty 1 with Christo Brand. He was Nelson Mandela Prison Guard. We got our books signed - Doing Life with Mandela My Prisoner, My Friend.

Great lunch at Our Local, a wee bit of car spotting before ending up with a cheeky cloudy sundowner on a roof top patio over looking table mountain.

All in all, a fabulous day which will be etched in our longterm memory bank.

Off to wine country tomorrow.

The oldest lighthouse in South Africa, Green Point Lighthouse in Cape Town, was commissioned at sunset on the 12th of April 1824, meaning that this grand old lady turns 200 years old on this day. It's a momentous occasion for lighthouses in general, but also in the history of South Africa. May she continue to shine for many more years to come!
