At 3,482 metres above sea level, Thabana Ntlenyana is Lesotho’s highest peak, tucked away in a remote corner of the Mountain Kingdom where few travellers venture.

Our 2 Day Thabana Ntlenyana hiking tour takes you up the legendary Sani Pass, deep into Lesotho’s rugged highlands and on a guided hike to the summit of this remarkable mountain.

❄️SANI PASS SNOW UPDATE - 19 Sept❄️

Sani Top this morning after yesterday’s snowfall.

We didn’t receive any further snowfall overnight, and with the rain and temperatures starting to rise, the snow is melting fairly quickly.

It’s still not clear whether the top section of Sani Pass is driveable this morning, but we’re hopeful that conditions will continue to improve and that the road should start opening up by tomorrow.

For now, the tar road from the Lesotho border at Sani Top through to Mokhotlong remains closed.

Please take care if you’re travelling in the area, we’ll share another update as soon as we know more.

❄️SANI PASS SNOW UPDATE❄️

A very wintry Sani Pass today! We were only able to make it as far as Ice Corner, with the road becoming increasingly wet and icy. At the moment, the Lesotho border at the top of Sani Pass is inaccessible. We’ll keep you posted as conditions change and share any updates on snowfall, road conditions and when the Pass is open again.

For now… enjoy a little glimpse of today’s winter wonderland!

Visiting Underberg and looking for a fun way to spend the day?

Grab a mountain bike and head out to explore some of the beautiful cycling routes around the area. It’s a great way to get outdoors, take in the scenery and discover a little more of Underberg, all at your own pace.

Mountain bikes are available for hire Monday to Sunday from our Lesotho On Track office.
