For our South African guests... Exciting news..
SAA will launch its first direct service between Cape Town and Mauritius on December 9 ✈️✈️✈️
The service will begin with three weekly flights, operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Flight SA194 will depart Cape Town at 09h25 and arrive in Mauritius at 16h30. The return leg SA195 will depart Mauritius at 17h20 and arrive in Cape Town at 21h30.
A temporary adjustment will be made between mid-January and mid-March 2026, when the service will operate twice weekly, in line with seasonal demand.

Please don’t touch starfish — this is a serious request to all tourists and guides.
To all visitors: leave starfish in the water.
And to all tour guides: please educate your guests about why this is so important.
Lifting a starfish out of the water for a quick photo might seem harmless, but it can actually be fatal for the animal.
Starfish breathe through tiny structures on their bodies called dermal gills. These gills exchange gases directly with the water — it’s how they get oxygen. When taken out of the water, they can’t breathe. Fresh air is toxic to them, and they can’t hold their breath. Every second out of water is a struggle — like having your lungs filled with water.
When people repeatedly pull them out for photos, the stress and oxygen deprivation can be enough to kill them. It’s not just a cute picture — it could be the end of that creature’s life.
Wildlife isn’t here for our entertainment. Just because something is slow or easy to pick up doesn’t mean we should. And no amount of likes or shares is worth harming a living being.
Most of us didn’t know better in the past — but now we do. And that means we have a responsibility to change how we interact with the natural world.

Wonderful ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ Airbnb review from Lucile, a family from France.

The apartment is amazing and perfectly suited to a family (we are traveling with a child and a baby), we had everything we needed, both in terms of space (2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 large kitchen, a large living room) and amenities. Dean makes everything available so that we don't miss anything (washing machine, dishwasher, baby bed). The terrace is very large and comfortable, the residence is secure and a short walk to the beach). The pool is beautiful. The neighborhood is perfectly located 5 minutes from Grand Baie. We can only recommend it for a great stay in Mauritius..
