Gansbaai’s Visitor Informaton Centre is filled with interesting and relevant information. The three friendly staff members are always on their post to help you. No question will go unanswered, no need will be unsatisfied. That’s not all, Gansbaai Tourism Bureau also has a conference facility which can be hired that can accommodate up to 80 pax.

Grootbos Private Nature Reserve: Over the last few years, we have connected with world-renowned experts from various fields that led us to learn something incredible about our surrounding area.
It has given us a glimpse into how the Cape Floral Kingdom and the Walker Bay coastline, which we call home, have played a role in the evolution of early modern humans 150,000 years ago.
At Grootbos, we have always had a natural curiosity to learn about our surroundings and to be deeply connected to our environment and the people who live here. When we learned about this story we knew we wanted to capture it, so we created this short documentary.
We are excited to share it with you as it celebrates the significance of this unique area and the profound impact it has on all who experience it. Take a moment to watch this fascinating documentary and discover more about this remarkable area we call home.

The Afrikaans language, from an English South African's perspective, provides us with such descriptive words that are not easy to duplicate or translate in any language and perfectly describe our South African feelings like gees, braai, howzit, lekker, kak, dof, eina, jislaaik and so many more....it is part of our everyday language across all cultures and languages in SA.

This is to make it possible for the local community members to share in the very best fynbos exhibition the world has seen! Please send your request in writing to [email protected] to see if your group qualifies and to reserve your slot. Community access is limited to 08:15 - 09:00 or 16:30 - 17:30 on Tuesday 16 September or Tuesday 23 September. Last year, local teams came in their staff uniforms and took the most beautiful photographs with a fynbos backdrop - why not do the same with your colleagues this year?
