Each mouthful is part of a day’s endless harvest. An elephant can consume up to 250 kilograms of vegetation in a single day. Leaves, bark, roots, and grasses gathered from kilometres of foraging. Around Etosha and Ongava, their feeding shapes entire ecosystems: opening pathways, spreading seeds, sculpting woodlands. Every branch stripped and every tree felled becomes part of the natural rhythm of renewal. Giants, yes, but gardeners too, tending the wilderness through appetite and movement.

One of the unique and intriguing wildlife species that you will see in the Kruger National Park.

The baboon is a large primate with a dog-like face and big, prominent canines. Baboons are omnivorous, feeding on lizards, birds and their eggs. They will often kill the new borns' of some antelope and even leopard cubs.

The Chacma Baboon feeds on just about every part of a tree. They eat grass, seeds, rhizomes, berries, mushrooms, fruit, eggs and small animal-like insects, earth worms, birds, lizards, and less occasionally they will kill and eat scrub hares and baby Impalas.
