Wahesu Tours WELCOMES THE PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF 176 SEATING CAPACITY COMMUNITY HALL IN KALABO.
The proposed construction of the Community Hall by Kalabo Town Council is a move in the right direction observes Subulwa Matengu CEO of Wahesu Tours.
He added that despite the operationalization of the Mongu - Kalabo road, the district still lags behind in MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events) which are essential compenents of the wider Tourism industry. The low hosting of MICE is attributed to lack of event hosting spaces such as halls and hence the proposed project will curtail the problem.
Further, he implored the district stakeholders to continue marketing Kalabo hospitality and tourism as the industry has potential to create jobs.

Had an interesting meet up with Bo Munaula Sikuleka in Kalabo.
He told me he grew up mwa Malelekwa and we shared many great stories among them the the legacy of Mundia Nalumino, who during his time single handedly brought electricity from Kariba to Kalabo despite opposition from Kaunda.
Kalabo district has history that is getting lost by the day.

WAHESU is a lozi word meaning friend or relative. In this regard everyone that we deal with automatically becomes WAHESU.

Wahesu Tours presents THE LUANGINGA RIVER EXPEDITION TOUR
Date: Saturday 10 June, 2023 and Sunday 11 June, 2023 from 14:30 to 16:30 hrs..
Package include: A ride in a boat on the LUANGINGA RIVER; A visit to the site where the man who used to ferry people across the river with a small pedaling stick (Kalabo) where the district draws it's name; and the visit to the old river route that later changed course.

Charges: K30.00 per head.
Meeting point: Kalabo main Harbour.
