"What if we have ruined everything?” Jack thought to himself as he stared at the gray clouds over Livingstone.
Seventeen hours from London, Jack, his wife and 3 kids had flown all this way to see the legendary Victoria Falls.
The date was 12th August. A quick Google search prior to getting on the plane quietly made Jack’s heart sink:
“The best to to visit the Victoria Falls in Livingstone Zambia is May - August"
Could months of planning, flights, and dreams really end in disappointment?
Jack and his family finally arrived in Livingstone. Out of their shuttle and into the Victoria Falls they went…
Immediately, the rain scented air hit them.
Mist swirled like smoke.
Rainbows stretched across the roaring Falls.
Vervet monkeys jumped among the trees.
Jack couldn’t believe his eyes. "How beautiful is the Earth?"
In the following days, Jack and his family raced on quad biked.
They spotted white rhinos and zebras.
They drifted on the Zambezi at sunset.
They explored museums full of stories.
And they even braved white water rafting and bungee jumping.
Every day brought something new, something they hadn’t expected, but loved.
By the end, Jack realized the truth:
The “perfect time” didn’t matter.
The best adventures happen when you least expect them, and magic is in the moments you share together.
