A quick wildlife fact for your feed today: Lions are built a little differently.

Did you know that Zambia is home to an impressive population of roughly between 1,200 to 2349 wild lions? That makes our country one of the absolute strongest strongholds for these magnificent apex predators on the entire African continent!

While protecting this incredible population is vital, watching them in the wild reveals some of the most intense behavior in the animal kingdom.

When a lion pair gets together to mate, it is an absolute marathon. While an individual mating session lasts just 10 to 30 seconds, the whole process spans 2 to 5 days.

During this fertile window, the couple goes on a round-the-clock lockdown:

A) They mate every 15 to 30 minutes.
B) They copulate between 20 to 50 times a day.
C) They completely ignore food to focus entirely on their mission.

Did you know you can legally hike to the bottom of Victoria Falls?

Deep inside the Batoka Gorge lies a spot known as the Boiling Pot. It gets its name because the rushing waters of the Zambezi River churn and boil like a giant, angry cauldron/pot.

To get there, you have to tackle a trail that plummets 108 vertical meters (354 feet) straight down the cliff face—the equivalent of climbing down a 30-story building. Because the steep, rocky path zigzags down the canyon wall, you will cover a 2-kilometer (1.4-mile) total walking distance round trip.

Ever heard of this rare and stunning animal? A Zorse is a hybrid creature born when a male zebra mates with a female horse.

This unique creature features a horse-like body covered in striking zebra stripes, making it a true wonder of nature. Because horses and zebras have differing chromosome counts, Zorses are sterile and cannot have babies of their own. The Copper Queens made a powerful statement at WAFCON in Rabat, Morocco, with a dominant 6-0 victory over Egypt.

Captain Barbra Banda earned Woman of the Match honors after netting a spectacular haul, while Racheal Nachula and debutant Eneless Phiri completed the scoring.
