The Tourist Development Corporation of Malaysia (TDC) was established on 10 August 1972 as an agency under the former Ministry of Trade and Industry by an Act of Parliament. With the inception of the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Tourism on 20 May 1987, TDC was moved to this new ministry; and became the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board (MTPB) through the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board Act 1992.

Popularly known as Tourism Malaysia, its full focus is on promoting Malaysia domestically and internationally.

Tourism Malaysia, in partnership with Qatar Airways, successfully hosted a lunch meeting session with travel agents at Grand Hyatt Dubai, bringing together key industry partners for an afternoon of networking and destination updates.

The engagement session served as a valuable platform to strengthen collaboration with the travel trade industry while showcasing Malaysia’s latest tourism offerings and experiences in conjunction with the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign. Discussions focused on market opportunities, travel trends, and joint efforts to further position Malaysia as one of the preferred destinations for travellers from the GCC region.

Participants were also introduced to Malaysia’s wide range of attractions, including its vibrant multicultural heritage, nature and island escapes, luxury hospitality, shopping experiences, and renowned Muslim-friendly tourism services that continue to attract visitors from around the world.

Tourism Malaysia, together with Qatar Airways, hosted a special lunch engagement session with travel agents in Al-Ain, Abu Dhabi at Ayla Hotel.

The event provided an excellent opportunity for industry partners to reconnect, exchange ideas, and strengthen cooperation in promoting Malaysia to the UAE market. Throughout the session, guests were introduced to Malaysia’s diverse tourism attractions, unique cultural experiences, and upcoming tourism initiatives under the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign.

The gathering also highlighted Malaysia’s strong appeal as a Muslim-friendly destination, offering halal culinary experiences, prayer-friendly facilities, family-friendly attractions, and warm hospitality that cater comfortably to Muslim travellers from around the world.
