South Travels history is more than just the websites we've built, the partnerships we've made and the customers we've served. Here, you will learn South Travels’ humble beginning, how we grew and how will we continue to make an impact in the Travel Industry.
In the year 2000, our Managing Director Mr. Naseer Khan and his wife have founded the company under the name Seven Seas Tours in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.
In 2001, the company expanded its operation and enlisted with the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce as South East Asia Tours.
Back then, there is only 3 full-time staff (excluding the management), who is looking after Sales, Reservation & IT.
Motivated by our vision to be recognized as a leading online booking specialist and provider of quality travel and tourism services in the UAE and worldwide, the small team worked together to make this vision a reality one day at a time.
In 2002, the company owned 7 websites exclusively for UAE online hotel bookings.
In 2003, with expansion in mind, the management decided to develop and launch SouthTravels.com as their main website for worldwide hotel reservation and later introduced other travel services along the way.
Business Analyst says: "8 out of 10 business start-up fails, most of them fail within 3 years. Even if you survive the first 3 years, there is a big chance that you may not last the first five." But our Managing Director is determined that South Travels is here to stay and has overcome all challenges in those critical years in business.
In 2004, we opened our Philippine Office located in Sibulan, Negros Oriental and Pakistan Office in Islamabad.
In the same year, many new employees joined the company to support the rapid growth of all our offices, some of them are still with us until now.
In 2005-2007, SouthTravels.com dominates most of the important travel-related keywords in search engines particularly Google.com which contributes to further growth of the company.
In June 2007, the company moved from Sharjah to Deira Dubai under the name South Travel & Tourism LLC. The new office is strategically located in the middle of the main shopping district and just opposite Deira City Centre where many ex-pat and tourist customers can be found.
In 2008-2009, while the region and other parts of the world are experiencing a global economic meltdown or recession, South Travels never laid off a single staff during this period. Instead, they invested in human resources and even hired some new staff in the middle of the crisis.
In March 2010, South Travel & Tourism LLC has become an IATA Accredited Agent. This is one of the most important key business drivers that give us an advantage in this already competitive travel industry.
In December 2010, we opened our new office in Jumeirah Lakes Towers Dubai under the name South Travels DMCC in which became our Head Office.
In 2011, with the goal of expanding our UAE tourism market share, we intensified our effort in bringing in Corporate Clients. In the past years, South Travels concentration is more on Leisure Travel. But due to intense competition in the marketplace, we have to make a strategic decision to also cater to this luxurious world of Business Travel.
In 2012, we opened our Associate Office in Ontario, Canada under the name of Kabayan South Travel Inc.
In 2013, South Travels is firmly determined to do something about the ever-increasing competition in the Online Travel marketplace. Not wanting to fall behind those big names in the online booking arena, South Travels develops a new website that will: Automate Booking Process for Hotels, Flights, Holiday Package, Cruise, Car Hire, and Transfers. This will be soon available in early 2014.
In July 2014, South Travels officially launched the much-awaited new website with its new and powerful booking engine. It delivers a clean, fresh look for South Travels with improved functionality and more customer-friendly experience.
