Honestly, you couldn’t make some of this stuff up!

People think I spend my days booking beautiful holidays, looking at fabulous hotels and travelling to the Maldives. Which, to be fair, I do quite a bit of! 😂🌴

But there’s a whole other side to my job that nobody sees!

The messages I get from clients while they’re away are sometimes absolutely priceless.

One minute I’m sorting out a lovely surprise for someone’s anniversary, the next I’m dealing with something so random I have to read the message twice! 🤣

And I absolutely love the ones that start with “Louise, just a quick question…”

It’s NEVER a quick question! 😂

But genuinely, this is one of the things I love most about my job. No two days are ever the same, and I do love a challenge!

🪸 I’VE FOUND SOMETHING SPECIAL IN THE MALDIVES… BUT THERE’S A CATCH! 👀🤫

I’ve just visited Sun Siyam Vilu Reef, and this little island really surprised me!

Firstly, THE REEF! 🐠 WOW!

I’ve visited more Maldives resorts than I can count, but I honestly can’t remember seeing a reef drop-off this close to the beach! Just a few steps and you’re looking into an incredible underwater world. A snorkeller’s dream!

The island almost feels like two resorts in one!

🌴 The original side is tropical, traditional and full of charm. The older villas have had a gorgeous makeover. Fresh, bright, spotlessly clean and completely unpretentious. I absolutely adore them!

😍 The new extension is a different world! Stunning contemporary water villas with private pools and slides straight into the ocean.

🍹 Add a new Beach Club with pool, an overwater spa, new dining experiences, restaurants, bars, diving and water sports. There’s plenty happening here!

WHO WOULD I SEND HERE?

Maldives first-timers, couples, families and especially anyone who LOVES snorkelling. It’s a lovely mix of barefoot charm and modern luxury.

NOW FOR THE CATCH… 👀

If you’re dreaming of a completely deserted island with nothing but ocean in every direction, this might not be for you.

You can clearly see a neighbouring local island from parts of the resort, particularly around the reef and water villas. And yes, it’s close!

Did it bother me? Not one bit! But I know it might bother some people, and I’d rather tell you before you spend your money.

MY VERDICT? ❤️

Would I go back? Absolutely!

For that incredible reef, the beautifully refreshed villas and the relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere? IN A HEARTBEAT!

And that’s why I visit these islands myself. Not just to show you the beautiful bits, but to tell you the things the brochures don’t!

Sun Siyam Iru Veli! Would I recommend this gorgeous resort to everyone? NO! And here’s why… 🇲🇻🥂

Another stunning stop on my Sun Siyam adventure… Sun Siyam Iru Veli

Just 45 minutes by seaplane from Malé, this gorgeous boutique island is all about barefoot luxury, beautiful beaches and switching off!

We arrived for a day visit and island tour, welcomed with incredible cocktails and a DJ beside the pool. What a welcome! 🍹💃

🏝️ WHAT MAKES IT SPECIAL?

✨ 125 villas, ALL with private pools! Choose from gorgeous beachfront and overwater options.

🛁 The bathrooms! Possibly my favourite in the Maldives, and I’ve seen a LOT! Beautiful indoor-outdoor spaces, fabulous bathtubs and tropical luxury. 😍

🍽️ 4 restaurants, 2 bars and a w**e cellar!

Enjoy beachfront buffets at Aqua Orange, seafood and steaks at Grouper Grill, Mediterranean dining over the water at Roma and Japanese teppanyaki.

I’ve just returned from Siyam World, the ultimate FUN island in the Maldives! 🇲🇻

Now, I absolutely LOVE the Maldives, but one question I get asked all the time is… “Won’t we get bored?”

Well, not at Siyam World you won’t!

This island is HUGE, with gorgeous white sandy beaches, beautiful turquoise water and more restaurants, bars and activities than you could possibly fit into one holiday!

And when I say there’s something for everyone, I really mean it!

🏎️ Go-karting – yes, in the Maldives!

🎳 Bowling – because why not?

💦 A giant floating water park in the middle of the ocean.

🤿 Snorkelling, diving and plenty of water sports.

🛝 Overwater villas with your very own slide straight into the lagoon!

🍹 A fabulous WOW! Premium All-Inclusive concept with loads of choice when it comes to food and drinks.

🎬 And one of my absolute favourites… cinema under the stars, complete with popcorn, surrounded by the Indian Ocean. Just magical!

The evening entertainment is on another level too. This certainly isn’t an island where everything goes quiet after dinner!

What I really love about Siyam World is the choice.

If you want to spend your days lying on a beautiful beach with a cocktail in hand, you absolutely can. But if you’re travelling with teenagers, energetic children or simply enjoy keeping busy, there’s SO much to do.

And let’s face it, keeping teenagers happy on a family holiday isn’t always easy!

Would I recommend it? Absolutely! Particularly for families, groups of friends and couples who want a bit more going on.

Would I recommend it to someone looking for a tiny, peaceful, romantic hideaway? Probably not. And that’s exactly why I love visiting these resorts myself. Not every Maldives island is right for every client.

Having now experienced Siyam World firsthand, I can give you my own thoughts, recommendations and little tips to help you get the most out of your holiday.

Vietnam Part 1

Last week we had the privilege of staying at the absolutely incredible InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort It was, with out a doubt, one of the most incredible hotels I’ve ever visited in the world! The design, attention to detail, location and of course, our hosts, were next level! Hand on heart, I can not recommend staying here enough! We also had the pleasure to visit the beautiful town of Hoi A for wonderful shopping, delicious food and great, delicious a Vietnamese coffee & people watching (one of my favorite past times!)

One of the biggest myths about the Maldives is that there’s only one “perfect” time to visit ☀️🌴

The reality is the Maldives enjoys warm temperatures year round thanks to its location near the equator. The ocean stays beautifully warm, the days are bright for most of the year and even tropical showers are usually short and quickly replaced by sunshine.

What many people don’t realise is how spread out the Maldives actually is. The islands stretch such a huge distance that the weather can be completely different from one atoll to another. It can literally be raining on one island while the next is enjoying blue skies.

Some of my favourite trips have actually been outside the traditional peak season. Resorts can offer far better value, availability is better and the whole experience often feels calmer and less crowded.

Don’t let a weather app put you off your dream trip. Tropical weather changes fast and the Maldives is stunning in every season.

I’ve travelled there in February, March, May, July, September and November and every visit has had gorgeous weather mixed with those dramatic tropical moments the Maldives is famous for.
