❶ This year, the capital is planning to end the year in style with what is set to be the ‘world’s largest firework display’ at Sheikh Zayed Festival, in Al Wathba. The festival is planning to break six (yes, six) Guinness World Records with its display. This includes a 6,000-drone show that will create aerial art for more than 20 minutes. The show will be 50 minutes in total.
❷ All public parking areas will be free of charge (except multi-storey parking) on Wednesday, 1 January 2025, for the New Year’s holiday. Paid parking will resume on Thursday, 2 January 2025.
❸ Extended public transport timings for New Years:
-Dubai Metro will be up and running for 43 consecutive hours from 5am on 31st Dec until 11:59pm on 1st Jan.
-Dubai Tram service will operate from 6am on 31st Dec until 1am on 2nd Jan.
-Dubai will supply more than 1,400 buses to its fleet which will offer up free rides to anyone who wants to use them.
-Extended marine transport timings for anyone planning on using the abra, ferry or water taxi services on offer.
❹ For those wanting to make the most of the day, Dubai Parks will operate from 8am to midnight. Additionally, selected lakes and parks will stay open later into the evening, like Leem Lake, Al Ghadeer Lake, Al Barsha Pond Park, Umm Suqeim Park, Al Khazan Park, Al Satwa Park and Al Quoz First Park remaining open until 1am.
