Hot on the heels of another Red Sox World Series win, in January 2014 Boston is hosting the 100th annual US Figure Skating Championships, where the US Winter Olympics team is determined. Come spring, the gaze of international sports fans – if not the world in general – will turn to the Boston Marathon. Despite concern that the bombings in 2013 would deter entrants from the 2014 race, this will be the second-biggest Boston Marathon ever, with 36,000 runners flooding the course. And once summer hits, the city’s usual festivities are in full swing: all sorts of festivals abound, beer gardens and restaurant patios overflow, and a thriving arts and entertainment scene keep Bostonians content as the humidity yields to stunning, vibrantly colored autumn. Year-round, the past is very much alive here: follow in America’s revolutionary founders’ footsteps on the Freedom Trail, stopping to imbibe a bit of history at the Bell in Hand Tavern, the oldest tavern in the USA.

A favorite place to stay is the Omni Parker House, a historic hotel overlooking the Freedom Trail that has employed Malcolm X and Ho Chi Minh, and accommodated Charles Dickens and JFK.

Dubai Creek Dhow Ride

The Burj Khalifa may give you that famous skyline view from up high, but the most iconic Dubai views are still taken from the water. Dubai Creek slices through the city and the best way to experience Dubai is from one of the beautiful dhows (traditional Arabic boats) that ply the creek. Bahrain International Airshow 2016

The Bahrain International Airshow will make a welcome return to the Kingdom next January. Taking place from 21 – 23 January 2016 under the patronage of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain and under the supervision of HH Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa - HM the King's Personal Representative and Head of the Supreme Organizing Committee of BIAS, the world class show will gather global companies in the aerospace industry, high-level military and civil delegations as well as aerobatic display teams, with modern and historic aircraft gracing the skies over the Sakhir Airbase.

On the ground, trade visitors will have the opportunity to meet and conduct business with key industry players while, alongside the trade event, families can enjoy a festival of fun with a host of attractions including children’s rides and games, flight simulators, educational activities and a heritage handicrafts village.
