Easily recognizable as Luke Skywalker’s home planet of Tatooine, many of the most iconic Star Wars scenes were filmed here. A perfect embodiment of Berber architecture, the Hôtel Siri Driss is located in the southern village of Matmata, Tunisia and offers subterranean adobe caves as accommodation for its guests. The initial Star Wars decorations were taken down after the filming of A New Hope only to be entirely restored in 2000 for the filming of Attack of the Clones.
