Emirates Holidays Offers Exciting Dubai Package To Nigerian Travelers

10/09/2013

Emirates Holidays, the tour operating arm of Emirates – one of the world’s fastest growing airlines, and Burj Al Arab –the world’s most luxurious hotel, have partnered to bring an exclusive Dubai luxury holiday package for travellers from Nigeria.

Emirates Holidays and Burj Al Arab are offering travellers the opportunity to enjoy a luxurious holiday in Dubai for three nights for the price of two.

Starting from $5,563 per person, the package includes return Business Class airfare, accommodation on twin sharing in a Deluxe Suite, breakfast, room tax and service charges, return airport transfers in a private car, as well as airport departure tax.

“Emirates Holidays is looking to strengthen its position in the Nigerian market in recognition of its enormous potential. Our partnership with the Burj Al Arab is really the coming together of two iconic brands, and we believe that together, we have a strong product to appeal to Nigeria’s discerning clientele, who will experience Arabian hospitality at its very best,” said Dina Al Herais, vice president-Commercial Operations, Emirates Holidays.

Also speaking Heinrich Morio, general manager, Burj Al Arab, said: “Nigeria is one of the key markets that we plan to focus our efforts on. We have noticed that Burj Al Arab has become a must-visit destination for Nigerian travellers, and we hope this trend is here to stay.

“The connectivity that Emirates offers between Lagos to Dubai helps strengthen our presence in the market, builds partnerships and creates new business opportunities through dedicated Burj Al Arab sales and press trips.”

The package is also designed for families travelling with children, entitling up to three children below 12 years to stay on a complimentary basis. During the holy month of Ramadan, fasting guests can take advantage of complimentary in-suite Iftar or Suhoor, instead of morning breakfast.

In addition, all guests will receive unlimited complimentary access to Wild Wadi Waterpark and complimentary children’s video games.

This exclusive offer is valid from July 8, 2013 until July 31, 2013. It excludes peak flight surcharges, and it subject to change.

Similarly, Kulwant Singh, managing director of Lama Tours, a tour operator said the number of inbound travellers to the UAE has gone up between 15 and 20 per cent over the last month.

Meanwhile, outbound passenger numbers have dropped by “at least nine per cent” in the UAE, Aridi said.

However, Singh said outbound travel is stable, with travellers booking a short trip before business picks up in the country.

“People are still travelling to Europe. They are taking last-minute breaks before September 15 when business picks up,” Singh said.

In terms of ticket prices, some travel industry experts said it has gone up slightly compared to the previous month.

Aridi estimates that to have grown by five per cent compared to August due to “higher fuel costs.”

A ticket from Dubai to London costs around Dh2,420 in September, up three per cent from Dh2,380 in August, according to Tarique Khatri, senior vice president at Cleartrip.com.

Singh said ticket prices for inbound travellers from the Indian sub-continent and the GCC are lower by between 7 and 10 per cent compared to August.

Room rates

Hick Olivier, vice president of operations for the Gulf and Levant countries at French hotel operator Accor estimates room rates in the country to be up 27 per cent over last month, and 12 per cent compared to the same time a year ago.

In Dubai, he expect a “27 per cent” increase, similar to the rest of the country, while in Abu Dhabi he estimates rates to be up 15 per cent.

“Revenue is increasing slightly [in September],” he said.

Hick says occupancy rates in Dubai will grow by 10 per cent this month to between 85 and 86 per cent from 75 per cent last year.

He sees the same source markets as in the previous months.

Meanwhile, the coming months are expected to see more inbound and outbound travellers.

“In October, there’s a big spike in outbound travel- at least between 30 and 35 per cent over September,” said Khatri, adding that “inbound travel season starts in October onwards due to various events, trade exhibitions and Eid holidays.”

Dubai: Inbound passengers to the UAE have grown between 20 and 25 per cent while ticket prices are up between three and five per cent compared to August, travel industry experts said.

“The season looks like it’s going to increase compared to last year,” said Ghassan Aridi, CEO of Alpha Tours, a tour operator.

Travellers are returning to the UAE for work and study, while some are coming for leisure activities.

Aridi says inbound passengers to the UAE are up “between 20 and 25 per cent” in September compared to last month. Based on pre-bookings, he expects that “will increase 12 per cent in the last quarter of 2013 against the same time last year.”
