In our opinion, the first place of Uzbekistan to investigate is... Tashkent. Perhaps it sounds strange, as there are older and more accommodating cities, and for many, the capital is a kind of starting and transshipment point while traveling around the country. It's worth it!
Tashkent is over 2200 years old, and there is something to see. Industrially developed, rebuilt after the 1966 earthquake, the city strikes with its contrasts and beauty. The preserved historical part, called the Old Town, surprises no less than other sights. And there are remnants of the ancient towns of Actep, Shashtep and Ming Urik in Tashkent, where you should visit too.
When you arrive in Tashkent, do not be lazy to visit its historical places. And the capital will open to you from a new side.
