want to stay in the north of zanzibar without being right in the middle of the crowds? 👇🏼

nungwi is known for the most beautiful sunsets on the island, calm water and some of the best beaches for swimming, but it’s also the busiest and most touristy part

after staying in much quieter jambiani i was a bit worried nungwi would feel too full on but ended up giving us the best of both worlds 🌴

it’s a boutique hotel tucked away in a really quiet part of nungwi, around a 15 minute drive from the main area and it felt like we had our own private beach

it was SO peaceful chilling here during the day then in the evening we could jump in a taxi and enjoy all the restaurants, bars and everything going on there

my tip: book one of the private bungalows! you get your own little pool and it feels so secluded and private 🌴

so if you want the beauty of northern zanzibar without the crowds, this is such a good option!

did you know you don’t necessarily have to use the guide from your camp? you can use your own guide, which is something i’d really recommend looking into

having someone who’s local to the area, knows the mara inside out and has years of experience makes SUCH a difference. they know the wildlife, where to look, how to read what’s happening and all those little things you’d never even think about

our guide grew up in the masai mara and has been a guide for 15 years, and i genuinely can’t recommend him enough. he was such a huge part of why our safari was as amazing as it was 🥹

if there’s one thing i’d prioritise when booking a safari, it’s finding an amazing guide!
