At Avarayr, we have always believed that visitors should not only see Armenia—they should experience it.

That is why we are proud to have been part of the foundation and development of Tonatsuyts Folk Theatre, a unique initiative dedicated to reviving Armenia’s traditional festivals, rituals, songs, and dances.

At the prestigious Where To Eat international awards, first place was proudly awarded to Renommée, Armenia’s distinguished haute cuisine restaurant, celebrated for its refined gastronomic philosophy and exceptional culinary artistry.

The title of Chef of the Year was presented to Karen Khachatryan, Executive Chef of Renommée and Head of Educational Programs at the Yeremyan Academy of Culinary Arts and Hospitality.

Discovering Syunik, Chapter 12: Halidzor Viewpoint

Perched high above the Vorotan gorge, Halidzor Viewpoint is where Syunik reveals its true scale.

From this breathtaking height, the landscape unfolds like a living canvas — deep emerald canyons, dramatic cliffs, and in the distance, the cabins of the Wings of Tatev gliding silently across the abyss. It is here that travelers first understand that Syunik is not merely a destination, but an experience of depth — both geographical and emotional.

The viewpoint stands near the historic village of Halidzor, a land once defended by the legendary Armenian commander David Bek. These mountains have witnessed resistance, resilience, and the unbreakable spirit of a region shaped by its heights.

At sunrise, golden light gently fills the canyon. By midday, shadows carve bold contrasts into the rock walls. And at sunset, the sky ignites above the distant silhouette of Tatev Monastery, turning the horizon into poetry.
