NEW RULE: REGISTER BEFORE YOU ARRIVE - RuID APP NOW MANDATORY FOR VISA-FREE TRAVELLERS

Starting 1 July 2026, all foreign citizens entering Russia visa-free must register in the Gosuslugi RuID mobile app before travel.

What you need to know:

⏰ Submit your application at least 72 hours before arrival. In emergencies (serious illness or death of a relative), applications can be submitted 4 hours before entry with supporting documents.

📝 What to provide:
- Passport details & photo
- Purpose of trip, dates, and region(s) you plan to visit
- Biometric data (face photo and voice sample)
After submission, you will receive a QR code – present it at border control. The QR code is valid for 90 days from the date of issue.

⚠️ Important: The portal and app may experience high traffic during peak periods. We recommend registering well in advance and not waiting until the last minute.

📌 Who is exempt?
- Citizens of Belarus
- Children under 6 years old (regardless of citizenship)
- Foreigners entering with a Russian visa

🏞️The Putorana Plateau is a mountainous area in the far north of Siberia famous for the beauty of its untouched nature and places where literally no humans have ever set a foot.

🎣There are over 25,000 lakes on the plateau, and it's a perfect place for fishing - grayling, char and taimen can be found there.
⠀
✨However, the climate on Putorana is really severe with an average winter temperature of -32 C (-26F). The spring comes here only in June. July, the warmest month, boasts average temperature of +8 C (46 F).

✈️To get to the Putorana Plateau, take a flight to Norilsk. From there you can take a helicopter tour or get to the plateau by boat (in summer) / snowmobile (in winter). There are neither hotels, nor restaurants there - get ready to sleep in a camp and cook food over a fire. Not really comfortable, but it's the best way to feel unity with nature and the majesty of this place.
