Attending Deal Europe for the first time and representing Armenia was a meaningful step for us at . It was an important opportunity to share the country’s depth as a destination and to connect with partners with a genuine interest in the region.

This milestone was made possible within the framework of our strategic partnership with the Strategic Development Agency NGO ( ) and the project. We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate and showcase Armenia as a dynamic and diverse destination.

A special thank you to Natalia Turcanu, Tine Murn and Simon Young for the excellent coordination and for creating such a valuable platform for connection and exchange.

As a follow-up to the event, we were also honoured to be hosted by the Armenian Embassy in London and His Excellency Varuzhan Nersesyan, where we had the pleasure of discussing ongoing developments in Armenian tourism, as well as opportunities to further strengthen Armenia–UK cooperation in this field.

We look forward to building on these constructive partnerships and continuing to strengthen Armenia’s presence in the global tourism landscape.

As we close the week, we thought to take a moment and reflect on (17 February) and what tourism means for .

For us, tourism is in personal stories. It is the guesthouse owner in who keeps her family business alive through the winter months. It is the winemaker in exporting Armenia’s story through every bottle. It is the guide in who protects and passes on centuries of history.

In Armenia, and many other countries in the world, tourism directly shapes regional livelihoods, creates meaningful employment and keeps cultural heritage alive. When done responsibly, it strengthens rural communities, supports SMEs and women-led businesses, and encourages the preservation of our landscapes and traditions.

Much like globally, Armenia’s tourism sector too has had to adapt, diversify and remain forward-looking in the face of regional and global shocks.

With 2027 declared the International Year of Sustainable and Resilient Tourism, this is an important moment for our industry to think long term. The future of Armenian tourism lies in quality over quantity, community-based experiences, environmental responsibility and genuine cultural exchange.

At Phoenix Tour, we contribute to that resilience by designing experiences rooted in authentic local engagement — working with community hosts, small producers and regional partners so that travel meaningfully benefits the places it touches.
