We have found the first nest on playa Chikitu!

Playa Chikitu is one of the beaches in our Washington Slagbaai Park. This beach is an important nesting site for our green turtles. Most of the green turtles that nest on Bonaire, will nest on playa Chikitu. So as expected, this nest is most likely from our first green turtle of this season!

The nest was adopted by The Laughing Seahorse, thank you so much for caring about our sea turtles!

Do our eyes deceive us? 🧐🤩 RRFB’s very own Operations Coordinator Sanne is on the cover of Scuba Diver Magazine!

🌊 We’re excited to be highlighted in their June Conservation Issue covering the latest in ocean science, research, and innovation. Here, Sanne places an ID tag on a coral nursery tree - indicating the species (elkhorn coral aka Acropora palmata or “Apal”) and genotype of the coral fragments being propagated on this tree 🪪
