Today marks a new anniversary of the death of General José de San Martin, a National Hero 🇦🇷
This equestrian monument located in Retiro, Buenos Aires is made of bronze on a red polished granite base.
It was the first equestrian monument in Argentina and it was inaugurated in 1862. The work belongs to the French sculptor Louis Joseph Daumas and the bronze groups around the basement were made by the German Gustavo Eberlein some time later.
