With the Anda team we had something pending: to include the temperate rainforest, on its Chilean side, in our trips. And this year we made it happen from Chiloé, a beautiful island 🙌🏻!

This subpolar forest is a wonder, full of Magellanic coigües, ñires, and lengas. Plus, in the area you can enjoy:

🌊 The food: fresh fish takes the number one spot on the list. Here, salmon has such an authentic flavor you won’t find anywhere else.

🍇 The drinks: Chilean wines are incredible. Did you know that some varieties are even treated to classical music while resting in oak barrels? 🎵 And when you taste them, you can feel it.

🏞️Trekking: nearby you’ll find the Osorno and Villarrica volcanoes. If you love this kind of activity, you’ll be in paradise!

Some things to keep in mind:
✈️ You can fly into Puerto Montt, a city in southern Chile, 918 km from Santiago, and from there continue by car or ferry.
🚗 You can also get there by land or water from Bariloche, in Argentine Patagonia.

Con el equipo de Anda teníamos una cuenta pendiente: incluir a la selva fría, en su parte chilena, en nuestros recorridos. ¡Y este año lo concretamos desde Chiloé, una isla preciosa 🙌🏻!

Es una maravilla este bosque subpolar, lleno de coigües de Magallanes, ñires y lengas. Además, en la zona se puede disfrutar de:

🌊 La comida: el pescado fresco está en el puesto número 1 de la lista. Acá el salmón tiene un sabor tan auténtico que no se encuentra en otro lugar.

🍇 La bebida: los vinos chilenos son increíbles. ¿Sabían que a algunas variedades les ponen música clásica mientras están en las barricas de roble? 🎵 Y, cuando los probás, lo sentís.

🏞️ Los trekkings: muy cerca de la zona están el volcán Osorno y el Villarrica. Si te gusta este tipo de actividad, ¡vas a estar en el paraíso!

✈️ Podés llegar en avión hasta Puerto Montt, al sur de Chile y desde ahí continuar en auto o ferry. 🚗 También podés hacerlo por tierra o agua desde Bariloche, en la Patagonia argentina.

✨ Small, little-traveled destinations that Anda takes you to. Today we introduce you to Tandil 😍

You won’t believe it, but this city in the Province of Buenos Aires sits on the Tandilia Massif —one of the oldest geological formations on Earth, estimated to be about 2.2 billion years old 😱.

But that’s not all. 👀 Pay close attention to the hills here —they don’t rise higher than 600 meters— because their rounded peaks have been smoothed down by time.

🪨 Other must-sees: Cerro La Movediza. For many years it had a natural wonder called the Piedra Movediza (Shifting Stone), a massive 300-ton granite rock that miraculously balanced at the top of the hill. Today, there’s a replica in its place, and you can still see the original rock —preserved in three pieces after it fell.
Meanwhile, Cerro Centinela still has a balancing stone that is truly spectacular 🤯. From both spots you can catch breathtaking sunsets.

With trails, viewpoints, forests, a lake, streams, parks, and amazing food, this destination offers an intimate connection with nature and regional traditions. Tandil is waiting for you 🤗.

Pequeños destinos pocos transitados a los que te lleva Anda. Hoy te presentamos Tandil. 😍

Esta ciudad de la Provincia de Buenos Aires está ubicada sobre el macizo de Tandilia, una de las formaciones geológicas más antiguas de la Tierra 😱.

Acá hay que prestarle mucha atención a las sierras —que no superan los 600 metros de altura—, porque tienen sus picos redondeados, desgastados por el tiempo.

🪨 Otros imperdibles: el Cerro La Movediza. Tenía una rareza natural llamada Piedra Movediza, una enorme roca de granito de 300 toneladas que estaba en increíble equilibrio en el cerro. Hoy hay una réplica en el lugar. La roca original también puede verse ahí, ya que se conservaron los tres pedazos que quedaron luego de que se cayera. Por su parte, el Cerro Centinela ¡todavía tiene una piedra en equilibrio que es un espectáculo 🤯. Desde estos dos lugares se ven unos atardeceres magníficos.

Visited by flamingos 🦩, they are sanctuaries of biodiversity 🐦 and stillness, which we approach with deep respect 🙏🏽.

We’ve received beautiful images of a King Penguin in Ushuaia! 😍

Sightings like this one are not uncommon in the area, where many marine species choose the Fuegian coast as a place to rest or to complete natural cycles like molting 🪶.

Do you know what to do in situations like this? Tierra del Fuego’s Environmental Secretariat reminds us:

🐧 Do not touch, feed, or try to force the animal back into the sea.
🐧 Keep your distance — and don’t use flash photography!
🐧 Notify the local authorities.

Este tipo de visitas suelen darse en la zona, donde muchas especies marinas eligen las costas fueguinas como lugar de descanso o para completar ciclos como la muda de plumaje 🪶.

¿Sabés qué se debe hacer cuando algo así sucede? Desde la la Secretaría de Ambiente de Tierra del Fuego nos recuerdan que:
🐧 No se debe tocar, alimentar ni forzar al animal a regresar al mar.
