San Fernando Fishing Lodge is strategically located in the most private section of the jungle, known as “the Yungas”, a thick lush rainforest near the eastern slope of the Andean Cordillera, home to a spellbinding diversity of plants and animals including South American tapirs, ocelots, monkeys, white-lipped peccarys, with toucans and lots of other wild birds..
The technique needed here is the surprise cast (techniques familiar to anglers on fisheries like the Parana River and the Ibera Marshlands are less effective on the Dorado River). The surprise cast demands that anglers are both accurate and delicate in their presentation. The recommended gear for the Dorado River is dry flies with a 9-foot, 7-weight rod with a 7-weight saltwater line. But don’t worry, our 3 guides (Agustin, Oscar and Fernando) know this river blindfolded, and they will share every tip to help you cast effectively and land one or more dorados at San Fernando, in what surely will be an experience of a lifetime in your fly fishing dreams.

The abundance of pigeons (both Picazuro and Spot-winged) during 2024 at should be emphasized, as it plays a critical role in the overall hunting experience we offer.

Once you get to your blind, the thrilling dove hunting unfolds in high volume fashion. You will give your shoulder a good excercise until is time to head to our camp, served with class and lots of fun.
