There is just something so special about the energy of the island—the seamless arrival by boat, charming cobblestone streets lined with colorful flowers, jaw-dropping views from cliffside beach clubs, incredible restaurants, luxury shopping, and endless shades of blue in every direction.

Whether you’re spending the afternoon browsing the boutiques, enjoying a long seaside lunch, cooling off with a refreshing lemon sorbetto, or ending the day with one of Capri’s legendary dinners—the kind where the music gets louder, everyone is singing, and the napkins end up flying through the air—every moment here feels unforgettable.

Sardinia had my attention long before I arrived—but experiencing it in person was something else entirely.

It’s impossible not to be captivated by the dramatic granite coastline, crystal clear turquoise water, vibrant blooms, and endless parade of superyachts. Pair that with charming piazzas, beautiful boutiques, and some of the best cuisine in Italy, and it’s easy to understand why this island has become one of the Mediterranean’s most coveted destinations.

Life here revolves around the sea, and a day cruising through the La Maddalena Archipelago is an experience not to be missed. Along the way, elegant villas appear to emerge from the granite cliffs, while the water is so crystal clear you can watch fish swimming beneath the boat. It’s every bit as breathtaking as the photos—and somehow even more beautiful in person.

Our summer vacation has officially begun. ☀️🇮🇹

We always love a beautiful coastal escape, but we also enjoy pairing it with a dynamic city where we can immerse ourselves in the local culture, discover incredible restaurants, experience the nightlife, and, of course, do a little shopping. Milan checked every box.

Our stay at Portrait Milano was exceptional. Housed within a beautifully restored 16th-century former seminary, the hotel is a true urban sanctuary. Most of the rooms overlook the stunning central courtyard, creating a peaceful retreat in the heart of the city. The location couldn’t be better—just steps from Milan’s most iconic shopping, dining, and landmarks. And the hotel bar Negroni cart - a definite highlight for my husband!

We made the most of our time by enjoying unforgettable meals, exploring the breathtaking rooftops of the Duomo, wandering the city’s elegant streets, and soaking in the energy that makes Milan so special.

We absolutely loved our time here and are so glad we added Milan to our itinerary. It was the perfect way to kick off our summer adventures.
