This theme could fill a feature length film, but honestly, nothing compares to experiencing remote Kyrgyzstan firsthand. Sound on 🇰🇬

Due to a cancellation, we have a single spot available to ride with us in Kyrgyzstan September 22-October 2, 2026.

We ride with shepherds on their transhumance — a seasonal migration of livestock, visit an eagle hunter, and join locals in traditional horseback games. Some nights we camp, other nights we stay in yurts and local guesthouses. It’s Kyrgyzstan off the beaten path, a glimpse into how deeply society here is linked to horses and the land.

Gaucho portraits from Patagonia 🇦🇷

Join us on a week-long pack trip in Argentina. Guided by local gauchos, you get a glimpse of another way of living. There’s no cell service. Only days of riding, swimming in mountain creeks, and sharing meals around the fire.

Behind the scenes in Patagonia — a sampling of small moments we love about our Argentina pack trips.

Other things we love:

- The way neighbors, who live several hours apart by horseback with their homesteads marked by stands of poplar trees, holler a greeting from across the valley.

- The way gauchos read the mountain and the weather, knowing all the livestock trails that snake through the ñire shrubs and lenga forests.

- The dogs who wait eagerly to gather the sheep each evening.

- The horses that come off the mountain, fresh and plump from spring grazing.

- The campfires and cozy cabin meals in candlelight that linger on as the stars come out.

Nothing quite compares to the rawness of Kyrgyzstan in winter. With almost no other tourists, this is an incredible season to experience the culture authentically.

Pick up military-grade winter wear for cheap in the local bazaar and ride like the shepherds, undeterred by the snow and rewarded with the vast solitude winter provides. One spot just opened — Mongolia Altai Expedition 🇲🇳🔥

July 3–15, 2026

Join us for an immersive, multi-part adventure from Ulaanbaatar to the remote Altai Mountains of Western Mongolia—home to nomadic Kazakh culture and a centuries-old tradition of eagle hunting.

Stay with a Kazakh family, venture deep into the backcountry on horseback and packing camels in the traditional Mongol way, and experience Naadam—Mongolia’s iconic festival of horse racing, archery, and wrestling.

This trip filled within a week of launch last July, but a last-minute opening means one more chance to join.

Quiet moments from Cappadocia ~

Cappadocia is incredible on any scale. Rock from ancient volcanic eruptions eroded into spires and hoodoos. Underground cities and monasteries carved into the landscape that carry stories of ancient civilizations eking out their existence in this space. A land of mixing cultures and ideas.

We experience all this on our ride, but also all the little moments that make travel on horseback so special. Mounting up as the sky turns pink with the rising sun, afternoon breaks under a shady tree, picnics with the horses, plucking wild grapes as your ride, and sweet dogs underfoot.
