My name is Sian, I'm a Languages and International Tourism Management University graduate from Edinburgh Napier University and the University of Sunderland. This was over 10 years ago so Dark Tourism wasn't as main stream or popular as it is now so I undertook a lot of my own research. I have a great passion for this niche subject. Washington Irving's book 'The Legend of Sleepy Hollow' was inspired by a real-life village called Sleepy Hollow. Located in the town of Mount Pleasant in Westchester County, New York. 🇺🇸

Sleepy Hollow can be found on the east bank of the Hudson River, with the village of Tarrytown to the south. Irving lived in Tarrytown, so it’s easy to see why he borrowed Sleepy Hollow for his version of the legend of the Headless Horseman.

The Abandoned Film Set Turned Popular Tourist Attraction in Malta 👀

The movie set was constructed two-to-three miles from Mellieħa, along the coast of Malta. It was left abandoned by the film crew in 1980, now it's a popular tourist attraction all year year-round.

The crew left the area so fast that the film set and numerous props were left behind.
