Can a trip truly change the way we live?
A few days ago a small piece about MoaAlm was featured in the in a collection of readers’ favorite life-changing trips. Seeing us mentioned in that context feels like a huge compliment and a reminder of why we do what we do.
Sometimes guests tell us about moments like these. A conversation at the right time. Lying in the snow making angels. A physical challenge that reveals unexpected strength. Practicing yoga in a way that doesn’t end when the holiday does. People discover a sense of inner space, real rest, or a new love for plant-based food. They leave with new friends, or even with the person they share their life with. Others learn a new skill — climbing, skiing, handstands — and realise it’s never too late to begin. There are once-in-a-lifetime moments, like standing on a summit with your heart in your throat, feeling the presence of the Großglockner, or watching a golden eagle circle in the vast sky.
Change often happens through experience. It comes with challenge and ease, stillness, joy, and community. Perhaps that’s what makes certain trips stay with us: they don’t distract us from life, they bring us closer to it.
Maybe your next turning point is waiting in the mountains.
Adam and his wife were our guests in December. He emailed us: „It is 40 days since we joined you in MoaAlm and I’ve practiced yoga on all but 2 of them.“
Thank you, and 🙏🏻 This (+ fresh snow) made our week! ☃️📰✨
