A private island resort on the French Riviera – and one of the most exciting openings of the season.

Just off the coast of Bandol, Île de Bendor was created by Paul Ricard, the visionary behind the famous French apéritif. In the Sixties and Seventies, it became a playground for artists, creatives and the international beau monde – a symbol of Riviera glamour and effortless joie de vivre. After years of quiet slumber, the island has now been reawakened as , the brand’s first Mediterranean resort and most ambitious European project to date.

Thanks to our collaboration with this exceptional place, our founder was fortunate to be among the first guests to experience the island following its reopening.

And what a place it is. Arrival by boat. Sun-drenched pathways lined with Mediterranen gardens. Tennis with a view. Long lunches, DJ sets at Nonna, healthy breakfasts at Soukana and sunsets that seem to last forever. Luxurious, yet wonderfully understated. Refined, yet deeply authentic.

What impressed us most was the atmosphere: a sense of stepping into a hidden corner of the Côte d’Azur, far removed from the obvious Riviera hotspots and closer to the French Riviera of another era.

There’s no shortage of beautiful hotels and aspiring places in the world – the real luxury is finding the ones that still feel special.

Our founder recently travelled to Ischia to finally experience Faro Punta Imperatore herself, one of the latest projects by , the company breathing new life into historic lighthouses across Europe. Perched dramatically on Ischia’s wild western cliffs overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, the lighthouse feels wonderfully cinematic, remote and deeply atmospheric.

With just four suites inside the historic lighthouse – and one additional room soon to open – this is less a hotel and more a rare hideaway suspended between sea, sky and silence. Sunset aperitivo overlooking the water, salty air drifting through open windows and some of the island’s most spectacular views included.
