✨ 24 Days of Advent Magic - Part 4/4 ✨
It’s the fourth Advent Sunday! The last candle is glowing, and Christmas is just around the corner. Here are our final festive ideas to make the most of this last magical week in Salzburg.
Christmas is calling… let’s make these final days merry, bright, and full of sparkle. ✨
⛸️ 1. Go Ice Skating
Glide into Christmas week at Mozartplatz’s Eiszauber (open until 31 Jan), or head to the Eisarena in Volksgarten for a bigger rink and a true local vibe.
🍺 2. Stop by Augustiner Bräu
Warm up after a cold winter day at one of Salzburg’s most iconic traditional spots. Steins of local beer, a cozy atmosphere, a perfect place for a relaxed evening with friends.
🍰 3. Drop by Café Tomaselli for a slice of cake
Treat yourself at one of Europe’s oldest cafés. Founded in 1705, Tomaselli is ideal for Sachertorte, Apfelstrudel, or a warm drink while you watch the Christmas lights outside.
🏔️ 4. Head out for a Winter Hike on the Gaisberg
Need a peaceful break from the Christmas rush? Head up the Gaisberg for snow-covered views of Salzburg. Hike up for the adventure or take the bus for a calmer escape — both offer winter magic.

✨ 24 Days of Advent Magic - Part 3 ✨
Can you believe we’ve already reached the third Advent Sunday? Salzburg feels cozier than ever, the lights are brighter, the nights are quieter, and the Christmas atmosphere is everywhere.
This week is all about snow, songs, day trips, and pure Salzburg charm.
⛷️ 1. Take the Ski Bus to nearby Winter Sports
Hop on one of Salzburg’s free ski buses and escape to the mountains for a day. Skiing, snowboarding, or just playing in the snow.
🎄 2. Visit the Christmas Museum & Shop
Step into the history of Austrian Christmas traditions. Vintage ornaments, nostalgic decorations, and stories from past centuries - plus a cute gift shop you shouldn’t miss.
✨ 3. Visit the Christmas Market in Hellbrunn
Until 24 December, Hellbrunn turns into a real-life Christmas fairy tale. Thousands of lights, glowing pathways, a giant Advent calendar on the palace façade, and even reindeer. Pure seasonal magic.
🚤 4. Check out the Wolfgangsee Advent
A dreamy day trip! Visit the lakeside Christmas markets in St. Gilgen, St. Wolfgang, and Strobl - and ride the Advent boat across the water. The lights reflecting on the lake at dusk? Unforgettable.
☕ 5. Have Brunch or Breakfast with Friends

We found a little hidden gem just a stone's throw from Salzburg HBF.

Grab a seat in this cozy, low-key spot serving up creative pizzas, from a classic margherita to a bold ’Nduja one – a spicy delicacy straight from Calabria.

🍕 The pizzas are hearty (between €8–€16), with plenty of vegetarian & vegan options. 🌿

Sweet tip? Don’t skip the Nutella calzone for dessert… best shared if you're feeling nice. 😋
