Imperial grandeur in lives through monumental palaces, ceremonial boulevards, gilded concert halls, and timeless café culture shaped by the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

A classic imperial route winds through Hofburg — the former winter residence of the Habsburgs — alongside the Baroque splendor of Schönbrunn Palace, the refined elegance of Belvedere Palace, and the cultural magnificence of the Vienna State Opera. The grand Ringstraße ties it all together with stately museums, parliament buildings, and aristocratic façades.

Chandeliers glow above marble staircases, horse-drawn fiakers echo through cobbled streets, and the waltzes of Johann Strauss II drift through cafés where time still lingers in the elegance of the Belle Époque.

If only furnitures could speak, then we would know the memorable chitchats of the Habsburgs during their era☺️. After all, they were also human like us.

Did you know?

Easter in Vienna is a vibrant mix of religious tradition and festive spring culture. In the weeks leading up to the holiday, the city hosts charming Easter markets such as the one in front of Schönbrunn Palace, where visitors can browse beautifully hand-painted eggs, traditional crafts, and seasonal foods. A key tradition is decorating “Ostereier” (Easter eggs), often using intricate patterns or wax techniques, and displaying them on branches to create an Easter tree symbolizing renewal. Children look forward to the Easter Bunny, who brings chocolate treats and hides eggs for festive hunts. Alongside these customs, many people attend church services during Holy Week, making Easter in Vienna both a meaningful religious occasion and a lively celebration of spring.

Schönbrunn Imperial Easter Market Highlights 2026.

The Easter market at Schönbrunn Palace runs from 25 March to 19 April 2026, with daily opening hours from 10:00 to 19:00. After Easter, it continues as a spring market, so it stays open a bit longer than most other Easter markets in Vienna.

In Vienna, children traditionally believe that the Easter Bunny brings gifts and sweets during Easter. Known locally as the “Osterhase,” the Easter Bunny is said to hide colorful eggs, chocolate treats, and small presents in gardens or around the home for children to find. On Easter morning, families often take part in an Easter egg hunt, where kids excitedly search for these hidden surprises. Along with sweets like chocolate bunnies and candy eggs, children may also receive small toys, making Easter a joyful and festive celebration in Austria.

Calling chocolate lovers!
Lindt is present at the Easter Market at Schönbrunn Palace. In 2026, Lindt & Sprüngli has a dedicated stand where visitors can enjoy hot chocolate and buy a variety of Easter-themed chocolates, including their famous Gold Bunny. This year is especially notable because Lindt is featured on a larger scale for the first time, with an expanded area of over 300 square meters offering themed experiences around their products. The Easter and Spring Market at Schönbrunn Palace runs from March 25 to April 19, 2026, and is open daily from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, making it a great place to explore seasonal treats, crafts, and festive activities.
