Autumn picnic with a Gothic view 🍂⛪

Blue skies, golden trees, and the twin spires of the Votivkirche rising almost 100 meters above Sigmund-Freud-Park. This is Vienna at its finest!

Built as a thank-you after Emperor Franz Joseph survived an assassination attempt in 1853, this neo-Gothic masterpiece by Heinrich von Ferstel took 23 years to complete. Today, the lawn in front is one of the city’s favorite spots to relax, grab a coffee, and soak up the view. ☀️

Last night we tried Jamie Oliver Catherine St in Covent Garden, next door to the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.

Proper British comfort food, done really well.

🥣 To start: British Stracciatella with sweet & sour pumpkin, plus smashed split pea soup with coal-roasted candy beetroot

🐟 Main: Crispy-skinned sea bream with creamy spring onion mash & parsley sauce

🍫 Dessert: Sorbet and a seriously boozy chocolate pudding with orange custard

And the room? Stunning interior, gorgeous architecture and super friendly service. Perfect for a pre-theatre dinner or a special night out in London.

Vienna has many sweet temptations — but some are simply iconic. 🤍

Today I’m taking you to , the legendary K. u. K. Hofzuckerbäckerei in the heart of Vienna, where confectionery tradition has been alive since 1786.

And this is not just any Kaiserschmarrn. 👑
Freshly prepared right in front of you: fluffy, golden, slightly caramelised, torn into bite-sized pieces and served with delicious stewed plums. Basically: Vienna on a plate. 🇦🇹✨

Watching it being made is almost as satisfying as eating it… almost. 😏

So, if you’re in Vienna: put Demel on your sweet-to-do list, order a Kaiserschmarrn and let the calories become part of the cultural experience. 😂

Barcelona knows how to make an entrance. 🇪🇸✨

Standing tall at the end of Avinguda de la Reina Maria Cristina, the Torres Venecianes are one of those iconic Barcelona landmarks you simply can’t miss.

Built for the 1929 International Exposition, they still create that perfect “wow, I’ve arrived in Barcelona” moment. ☀️🏛️

And yes… sometimes the best travel moments are simply about looking up. 👀
