A time lapse video of last nights lunar eclipse (over 2 hours in the video). Unfortunately, I learnt that the setting auto exposes the image each time so I missed the deep red of the full eclipse.

Finally got to see the comet ☄️. Look WSW around 9:30pm (let your eyes adjust for a bit or use phone camera to help spot it. Binoculars are great).

For those enquiring about the comet, look west just after the sun sets. Will be low, see diagram…. And require no cloud (perhaps tomorrow). Good luck!!

Saw the Atlas A3 comet (no photo) with the kids tonight, Saturn and globular star cluster (47 Tucanae) thrown in. Then a starlink train went through 😎

Located along the Fleurieu Peninsula of South Australia, Carrickalinga is famed for its white sandy beaches, clear waters, and rich wildlife. The town's pristine night skies inspired locals to achieve Dark Sky Place accreditation, upgrade street lighting, and initiate educational programs on light pollution. The community hosts regular dark sky events featuring stargazing and First Nations stories.

Though once a hidden gem, Carrickalinga is gaining popularity. Visitors can enjoy multicultural night sky tours blending traditional and modern astronomy with resources provided by the District Council of Yankalilla.
