Adventure Kayaking SA is based in Adelaide, South Australia. We offer fun, safe and adventurous kayak and paddle boarding(SUP) tours into sensational natural environments. Clients join us for encounters with dolphins and shipwrecks at the Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary or exploring sea caves and observing seals, sea eagles and exploring the rugged coastline at Rapid Bay. We also offer tailored paddling programs for schools, social and business groups.
Adventure Kayaking SA began as Blue Water Sea Kayaking Glenelg in 1998. As BWSK it was a hobby business for owner Phillip Doddridge who was a secondary teacher and school administrator. This business idea of offering Adelaide locals and visitors sea kayaking trips grew from the owners 25 years of teaching experience in Outdoor Education. While acting as a sea kayaking trainer for Australian Canoeing Incorporated, the peak body for kayak education in Australia, Phil met many people who were successfully conducting business interstate and saw the opportunity to do similarly in South Australia. In many ways Blue Water Sea Kayaking was a first for SA and is still breaking new ground as we are the only operator specialising in paddling adventures for short stay tourists, local family, and friendship and business groups.
In 2008 the business name became Adventure Kayaking SA and marked a distinct change in direction for the owner who was now full time in this business. Adventure Kayaking SA now conducts kayaking and paddle board tours, hire and lessons in the waters of the Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary 6 day a week for most of the year and sea kayaking at Rapid Bay Tours 2-3 times a month from November to April.
