Imagine waking up to the sound of silence. Peering through the circular window at your feet and watching the stillness of the water before you.

There’s something calming about watching pelicans skim the water. Their wings barely brushing the surface. When you stay at Coorong Life on the Murray River Lakes and Coorong, this is just one of many small, steady rituals that mark the day.

Imagine this: you're wading through water as clear as the summer's sky. You look down and can see your feet perfectly, embedded in the sand 🌊

Your peripheral fills with a wash of blue that blends the skyline with the sea as though this bubble of beach belongs to only you. A wave of calm and quiet so still that even the ocean mimics the atmosphere.

This is a common experience at Coffin Bay National Park - a 9 hour drive, or a 1 hour flight from Adelaide πŸš—

Have you ever tasted wine amongst the vines it was grown? πŸ·πŸ‡

You don't just drink the wine at South Australian cellar doors β€” you taste the land it comes from. You sip from your glass on the same soil that nurtured the flavours you savour. Winemakers understand their patch of paradise like the back of their hand, working with the seasons, the soil and a deep respect for their craft.

What if we told you one of the world's youngest female Directors of Space lives right here in Adelaide? πŸ’πŸš€

Reaching for the stars is a phrase few take literally. That is, unless you are Dr Catherine Grace. At just 40, Catherine has overcome poverty and violence to become one of the youngest female space directors in the world.

Health might seem like an unconventional entrance into the world of astronauts and black holes, but Catherine sees a through line. So how exactly did she become one of the youngest female space directors in the world?

Visit southaustralia.com/stories to unearth Catherine's untold story.

When was the last time you truly heard the sound of silence?

So quiet you can hear your own breath. The whistle of the wind as it sweeps the valley below. A stillness so visceral you can almost hear your own heart beating.

This is what life is like in the outback. Where the landscape is honest in its treatment of the land. Bare but beautiful. Silent and salubrious.

Have you heard of the man that clocked up 30,000 burpees in hotel quarantine? Or that has raised roughly $9 million for charity?

Likely not. But if you travel five hours by car to Arkaba Station in the Flinders Ranges and Outback of South Australia, you'll find Bruce Lawson. A man who has mastered the art of the impossible.

The unassuming walking guide has hiked from Cape Town to Cairo – dodging bombs in Sudan and taking on a group of bandits with machetes in Kenya. He has tested his physicality time and time again in the name of raising millions for charity. But, he spent the first 10 years of his life unable to walk.

Bruce now calls Arkaba Station, and the Arkaba Walk track, home. His career has become reliant on him doing the one thing he was told he would never be able to do – walk.

Visit southaustralia.com/stories to unearth Bruce's untold story.

Picture this. You're swimming in the sea a short stretch from the jetty. The salty water laps at your lips as you float through its current.

You eye the pontoon, finally free from buzzing beach goers. You haul yourself up, laying down on your back. Its fabric surface warmed by the sun, now reflecting its heat onto you. You look to your side, your friend relishing in the same simple moment. The cherry on top? A classic pub feed at the Port Neill Hotel just off the shore.

Every person you walk past holds within them an untold story.

It is that untold story that – once unearthed – has the power to turn something or someone from ordinary to extraordinary; you just need be curious enough to ask the first question. So, what if these stories were told?

Last season, we introduced you to nine gripping tales. As we launch into season two of Untold, we're unearthing four more. While these characters may appear seemingly ordinary if you passed them on the street, their stories are extraordinary – and are weaved into the fabric of South Australia.

Imagine this: you ramble through a field towards an unassuming tree. From the outside, it doesn't look like much – a dome of leaves decorated only by a wired sign titled 'The Fig Tree' πŸƒ

As you walk through the archway, the hollowed interior reveals a dozen or more quaint garden tables. Fairy lights illuminating the twisted branches bent to form pockets that feel like private dining nooks. The local kangaroos rustle around the tree's edges. This is where great food meets extraordinary nature in South Australia 🍷🦘
