When was the last time you felt the world slow down? Not just from the quiet of nature, but from the space you make to breathe 😮‍💨😌

That's the magic of a bath in winter. You slip into steaming water, perched high on a hillside or beside a stone cottage, as the winter sun casts a warm glow over South Australia's landscapes. Steam rises, slow and steady. For a few long minutes, the world asks nothing of you 🛀

Where better to soak in the sunset's splendour than by the sea? 🌅

We're a lucky bunch in South Australia. Where almost every night, even in winter, we're treated to a scene so surreal it captures everyone's attention.

This sunset was captured at Goolwa Beach on the Fleurieu Peninsula, roughly one hours drive from the city centre 🚗

If you said Mount Osmond Lookout you're correct! Here, the sky stains with streaks of pink, orange and purple. The horizon seemingly hums with the glow of first and last light. A canopy of candy corn colours wakes the city below.

This is what rush hour looks like in the Flinders Ranges and Outback 🚗

Out here, there's no rush. In fact, time almost feels still. The sun dipping and rising behind ridges a telltale sign of the time of day.

Do you know what makes a pink lake pink? 🤔💖

These lakes, such as Lake Bumbunga in the Clare Valley, become blushing beauties thanks to high salinity levels, combined with the presence of salt-loving algae and the pink halobacteria.

The lack of water causes the salt to be more concentrated, brightening the colour. But, the lakes aren’t always fairy floss pink – nature and the changing weather can see them turn from pink, to white, orange and even green. But if you’re lucky enough to catch them in full bloom, we promise you’ll never forget it.

Did you know Koalas are still active in the winter months? 🐨

It may surprise you, but koalas don't hibernate. While they may be harder to spot as they doze peacefully in the eucalyptus above, they are still very much present in their natural habitat.

Quietly observing their surroundings and often times going unnoticed, you'll have to look up to catch a glimpse 👀
